America to Egypt
|

We
just returned from a 20 days mother and
daughter vacation to EGYPT. Our vacation
was simply fabulous! Egypt is wonderful,
exotic and a beautiful place to visit with
modern and ancient living side by side.
The Egyptians are the friendliest people
I have ever met. Not once we felt any danger
or animosity towards us. The Egyptians definitely
welcome Americans with open arms. If you
are planning or dreaming about going to
Egypt but a little reluctant JUST DO IT!
You will not regret it!
All of the arrangements and accommodations
were excellent. The highlights of the trip
were our ground crew. The tour director,
driver, and guide in Upper Egypt were absolutely
wonderful. They treated use kindly and most
of all they were very patient, especially
when I was sometimes a little difficult
and demanding. The only thing I can say
about the Pyramids is that you have to see
them for your self. They are just incredible
and enormous!
Lower Egypt (Luxor, Aswan, and Hurghada)
would probably be the most memorable visit
for us. The ancient sites in Luxor were
astonishing and magnificent. If you love
ancient temples and tomb, Luxor is the place.
Aswan is just plain beautiful and relaxing.
The Nile River in Aswan is a deep blue that
mesmerizes you. The Nubians in Aswan are
beautiful and extremely friendly people.
I wished I could have stayed longer in Aswan.
Cruising up the Nile River on a floating
hotel was simply breathtaking. We will never
forget the beautiful sun set and landscape.
Hurghada (Red Sea) is another place that
was wonderful. We definitely enjoyed the
desert safari and boat ride. Diana's boat
served one of the best lunches we had on
the trip. The food was simply delicious
and Diane and her staff were great too.
I definitely recommend this boat for scuba
diving and snorkeling tour.
We visited so many wonderful places in Egyp?,
but it would not have been as enjoyable
and adventurous if it was not for the Tour
director, Guide and Driver. The Guide is
very knowledgeable about Upper Egypt. His
presentation on Upper Egypt was excellent.
We definitely were not worthy of his in-depth
knowledge on ancient temples. Abu Simbel
Temple is definitely a must. These temples
are probably Ramses 11 greatest masterpiece.
Finally, the Tour Director and Driver are
true gems. They definitely went beyond the
call of duty to make use feel right at home.
The Driver is very kind and a gentleman.
He always had a bright and cheerful smile
for us every morning. When I climbed Mt.
Sinai, he was right by my side offering
encouragement. I made it to the top thanks
to him and God. May God bless him and his
family.
The Tour director kept us laughing all the
time. I know his job was extremely difficult.
He made all our accommodations and he was
very flexible when we wanted to change our
itinerary. He kept everything organized
but most of all he kept us pleased and happy.
Ali performed his job in a professional
manner and everything proceeded smoothly.
He is definitely an asset to your company.
I wanted to emphasis this point, visiting
the temples and tombs were very exciting,
but it was the ground crew that made the
difference. I firmly believe that if it
were not for the Tour Director and rest
of the crew, our vacation would not have
been the vacation of a Life Time. Thank
you for a job well done. I also want to
acknowledge the Fisherman restaurant we
visited the last night in Egypt. It was
very beautiful and the food especially the
fish was outstanding.

The trip was great.
We loved the temples, pyramids and sphinx
and all the sights. The cruise was great,
the convoy to Hurghada was nice, and the private
car was great. Enjoyed that way more than
the bus. The time is Hurghada was great. I
feel that the tour guides were excellent,
they knew their stuff. We learned a lot, they
answered all of our questions and helped us
with any problems that occurred. They were
also on time, polite and courteous. Thanks
you for all your help in planning our trip.
It was great.
I'd definitely recommend your service to others.
Thanks again... |

| I just wanted
to let you know that we really enjoyed our
trip to Egypt! The sights were great, and
we loved the Nile cruise. All of our tour
guides were very informative and nice. We
also appreciated all of the effort everyone
made to accommodate our changes in the itinerary.
We did have a wonderful time on our trip and
appreciate everyone's hard work and the efforts
they put in to make sure we enjoyed ourselves
and saw the best that Egypt had to offer! |

We made it back
and enjoyed our time in Egypt very much. The
Eugenie is a wonderful boat and we could recommend
it without reservation. The food, staff and
decor were impeccable. The St. George Sonesta
in Luxor also was wonderful in every way.
We were pleased with our substantive guides.
All were needed to make the visits to the
historic sites meaningful. We wouldn't have
appreciated the trips nearly as much without
them. In particular we enjoyed two of the
guides, Baher in Aswan/Luxor who was quite
kind and Shaima in Cairo who had a lot of
enthusiasm and charm.
Our logistics man, was a character and certainly
made the trip memorable. I was quite impressed
with scuba diving and would not miss a stop
at the Red Sea. In general, the food was great.
The Eugenie and Sonesta St. George were particularly
good, and again the staff was great. The Hilton
Ramses had an excellent breakfast buffet and
the staff was lovely. I was happy we stayed
there whenever we were in Cairo. The Aswan
Oberoi had a lovely pool and rooms. Finally,
we both would like to note how much we liked
the driver Mohammad. Despite the terrible
traffic in Cairo he never became upset. He
always had a smile, and in short was a true
pleasure. If that were not enough, he climbed
Mt. Sinai with one of the other Americans
on the same tour as us and who had trouble
getting up to the top. I thought that was
above and beyond duty as he ?rove the 6 hours
to St. Catherine from Cairo the day before
and had to drive back the following day. He
did it all in the calmest and kindest manner.
He is a gem.
In conclusion, I would highly recommend A-Z
travel. It is without a doubt a great value
for an incomparable trip. |

| Thank you for
asking about my trip.I really liked my guides
in Luxor and Cairo. They were excellent, so
knowledgeable and very professional. I hope
they become my friends. I really liked everything
I saw and I want to go back to Egypt - Mohammed
was a great driver - every day he and Osama
took me to Islamic Cairo for the sufi dancing.
I think the Sultan Hassan mosque should be
a stop on your tours. We went into one small
part of it and it was beautiful. It felt very
peaceful and spiritual there. Prayers had
just ended.
I really liked Sameh at the Kouad Delta
Pyramids hotel, too. He was always friendly,
and everyone on the desk staff was helpful.
Thank you and everyone you work with here
and in Egypt for making my trip happen.

The
trip was excellent, we had a great time, and
we couldn't have been paired with better traveling
companions. Michael and Claudia were great.
Hamdan Fathy was great also, very knowledgeable
about both the ancient and more recent History
of Egypt, and was very concerned for our safety,
well being and making sure we were having
fun and seeing the things that interested
us. He was also very concerned for the children,
which is far beyond the normal duties of a
tour guide I'm sure.
Thank you for everything, and if you have

We have just returned
from our trip to Egypt and we would like to
thank you for a wonderful holiday, made so
stress free by the most professional way your
company operated. There was never a minute
we were left wondering what was happening
and all the transfers and pick ups ran so
smoothly. I would like you to convey our sincere
thanks to Mohamid in Cairo for all the organizing
he did in this area.
But most of all I would like to thank you
for giving us such a wonderful guide and driver.
Tiger, the driver, was such a friendly and
helpful man, with nothing being too much trouble.
On numerous occasions when he was waiting
for us after a visit to something, he was
always on the look out for us, and would just
pull up right there. He was amazing, and a
real asset to your company. I hope you will
be able to let him know how much we appreciated
his attentiveness.
Our guide Hemden, just made our trip very
special and we now regard him as a very special
friend. His outstanding knowledge of ancient
Egypt made our trip so interesting, but his
ability to share everyday modern Egyptian
culture with us was very special and made
this trip for us a wonderful cultural experience.
You are very fortunate indeed to have a guide
as talented and such a special person as Hemden.
Your assurances to us that your company would
go the extra mile to ensure our comfort and
enjoyment were certainly carried out. Please
convey our thanks to everyone involved. Many
thanks for a wonderful holiday. |

Our trip was splendid,
wonderful, marvelous, fantastic and just plain
great! It was truly a memorable, once-in-a-lifetime
journey...except for those of us for whom
it was a memorable first-in-a-lifetime journey
- I'll be back!
I know that you and the rest of your team
put in a huge amount of extra effort to make
our trip a success, and I deeply appreciate
your efforts. The arrangements you made for
us were superb.
Your "ground crew" in Cairo were
great. Mohamed functioned like a modern form
of Anubis, guiding us through the underworld
of planes and trains and formalities quickly,
happily and without incident. And then there
was our guide...Ahmed is a jewel! He exhibits
great knowledge and love of pharoanic Egypt,
and somewhow manages to make that past come
alive in the here-and-now of Egypt today.
He is a marvelous teacher.
Finally, I want to address the question of
"safety and security," since I know
that's on a lot of people's minds. I always
felt completely safe in Egypt, safer than
I have felt in many other places in the US
and around the world. The people we encountered
were warm and welcoming, and very pleased
to interact with us. "Welcome to Egypt"
was the call we heard everywhere - ex?ept
in Aswan, where the call was "Welcome
to Alaska," a little joke making the
rounds of the younger set. We had security
guards with us for much of the trip, which
was disconcerting at first, but we got used
to it. The guards were invariably courteous,
often friendly and funny, and they tried to
be as unobtrusive as possible. We never felt
that our movements were restricted or being
monitored in any way; instead, we had people
watching over us to make sure that we were
able to do whatever we wanted in maximal safety.
I would return to Egypt tomorrow without a
qualm, and hope that others start traveling
there again, too. So, once again, showkron,
showkron, showkron! I am very grateful to
you both. - Joni. |

We had a wonderful
time. I guess that in retrospect there are
things that I would do differently, like take
more time to see the same amount of things
or see less things in the same time frame.
The cruise from Luxor to Aswan was just Great
as we had time to relax and look at Egypt
as we sailed by.
Yasser was great. Very helpful and very knowledgeable.
Our driver in Cairo "Tiger" could
thread the proverbial needle with a camel
as he maneuvered the van through Cairo traffic.
At times we were a little late and Tiger always
made up the time and got us back on schedule
again. Mohammed, the poor fellow never sleeps.
He is always available and made sure our hotels
were ready, our tickets were confirmed and
he assisted and facilitated us in and out
of the airports. Somehow Yasser even controlled
the weather which was fantastic for nearly
the whole of our stay.
We enjoyed the meals that were provided by
A-Z Tours. The meals on the cruise were first
rate and the food in the hotels were yummy
too.
My wife and son were awed by the sights of
ancient Egypt and the warmth and hospitality
of the Egyptian people. I, of course, was
home again having been born in Cairo and having
returned 3-5 times in the past including one
10 month stay as a Marine Security Guard at
the American Embassy. So, I loved it and we
will plan to visit again sometime in the future.

I had a wonderful
time in both Egypt and Jordan. The was never
a moment that are not exciting and overwhelming.
I have to say I really didn't know what to
expect in terms of the trip, however, I was
pleasantly surprised with the tour agencies
professionalism, knowledge, flexibility and
thoughtfulness. Our Egyptologist (Hamdam Fathy)
went above and beyond the call of duty to
ensure I received everything I needed regardless
of the request. I really want to highlight
Hamdam as someone who is incredibly educated
in ancient history and a genuine person that
takes great pride in his job and the service
and experience of those he is responsible
for. The accommodations such as the hotel,
food, and transportation was all very nice
and surpassed my expectations. The recommended
itinerary was also perfect for the amount
of time I had.
The experience was absolutely amazing and
I learned a tremendous amount of information
in terms of ancient history, culture, the
Muslim's, current politics (a perspective
from the Palestinians regarding the issues
in Israel). I also made many amazing friends
in both Egypt and Jordan that I hope to keep
in touch with. As an American I felt 100%
comfortable/safe and was treated very well
from the local people. Even if someone wasn't
travelling alone I would recommend to anyone
going through the tour agency.
In Jordan a site will be opening in 3 weeks
where Jesus Christ was baptised by the river
Jordan. Beautiful restaurants, snack bar,
shops have been built next to this site but
the truly amazing experience is the pathway
that has been built through the trees that
leads down to the river Jordan. This site
also contains Elijah's hill where it is believed
that prophet was translated as well as John
the Baptist Church. Really this was in many
ways the highlight for me on the trip and
I would recommend anyone going to Jordan to
take the time to experience this as it is
on the way to the Dead Sea. Thanks for this
experience one that I will never forget. |

All of my trip
went very well and I was particularly pleased
with the Middle Egypt trip. We went to Akhmim
across the river where we saw a rarely visited
11-metre high statue of an unknown princess.
We were all pleased and the townspeople obviously
don't see westerners very often. A delight.
At night our group - me, guide, bus driver,
and the Tour rep - all got on very well and
went out for dinner each night, followed by
coffee or tea in the street. Couldn't asked
for a better team. |

I
want to write and let you know what a wonderful
trip to Egypt my son Evan and I just had!
We had been hoping for many years to someday
visit Egypt and see its many famous and ancient
sites. Finally we we able to go this year,
and it was truly the trip of a lifetime.
Over the past two weeks, not only did we finally
get to experience the famous landmarks we
had previously seen only in books and on TV,
such as the Pyramids (which are much taller
in real life!) and Abu Simbel, we also saw
temples we were not previously familiar with
but were just as stunning, such as Abydos,
as well as beautiful mosques and churches
in Cairo. We took many pictures and will remember
this trip all our lives.
What made the trip particularly special for
us was our wonderful tour leader Ali, a warm
and friendly person who was truly concerned
for our every need. I was afraid I would gain
weight during the trip! Ali made sure we were
happy every step of the way, and made all
arrangements efficiently and exactly. He became
our friend, and is a kind and generous person.
Also,
our historical guides Omar and Mariam were
very informative, and provided us extensive
information about the historical sights we
were seeing. Although we tried to learn about
Egypt before the trip, we learned so much
more from Omar and Mariam, such as the difference
between Roman-era and native Egyptian relief
carvings, the three versions of Horus, and
the difference between Isis and Hathor.
All our friends are fascinated about our trip,
and we have been telling them all about the
marvellous time we've had. The people we met
in Egypt were friendly and gracious, and we
especially appreciated the personal experiences
such as dining out with Emad and his family,
and eating at kosharie restaurants with Ali.
Egypt seems so far away from the U.S., but
this trip was enjoyable and carefree. Thanks
again for a great trip. |

Happy

the ways of people in Egypt. The accommodations
and food were excellent. The rooms with views
of the Nile and the Pyramids were extra special.
We already cherish and miss the kind, open
and gracious people of Egypt. We felt very
safe and well taken care of during the entire
trip. Shukron (Thanks). |

Reconfirm
thanks to the exceptional effort of everyone,
this was one of the BEST trips ever. The Tour

I have ever had the pleasure to deal with,
and I owe it all to your planning and follow

This was the 1st time ever to have such complete
assistance at an airport arrival - stands
out above all others worldwide. All the guides
were not only knowledgeable but personable,
and seemed to to bring history alive with
their comments. It is obvious that the personnel
with the local Tour Company are not only competent
and professional, but also committed to "customer

I
am back home now, but I wish I was back in
Egypt! I want to tell you how much I enjoyed
the tour. I really liked the culture and the
people there. Seeing the ancient monuments

all the friendly people I met and the culture
they have. I can't wait to return to Egypt
to see more of Cairo and the people, and definitely
it will be a longer stay next time. It was
very sad to leave Egypt yesterday.
If I could get a job in Cairo I would seriously

he showed me around not only the tourist attractions,
but also the cafes and streets of Cairo, Luxor
and Aswan. He was very friendly, knowledgeable
and professional. He accounted for every detail

We
had a wonderful time in Egypt! Although
our time there was short, our tour was well
planned to make the most of it. Khaled was
wonderful! Not only is he a wealth of information
on Egyptian history, but he is a pleasant,
personable and caring guide. We are very
happy we decided to schedule our tour with
A-Z Tours in lieu of taking the optional
shore excursion offered by our cruise line.
When we returned to the ship and described
our experience, our fellow travelers were
so envious! Several couples and families
requested your name and contact information
for their future reference, and we gladly
passed it on!
I also wanted to include a special thanks
to Khaled for how he handled a potentially
disastrous mishap that occurred just as
we arrived at the Great Pyramids. As I was
stepping out of the van, I twisted and sprained
my ankle very badly. Khaled was very concerned,
and immediately offered to get medical attention.
As I had done this once before, I declined.
Being the caring individual that he obviously
is, he purchased cold water to apply to
the swelling (no ice was available). He
made sure that our tour of the pyramids,
as well as all our remaining stops, were
taken at a comfortable pace. Later, he brought
me a bandage and some ointment that helped
tremendously throughout the rest of our
vacation. Thanks again, Khaled!

Over the years we have taken many tours, trips and
cruises but I have to say that Israel and Egypt surpassed
them all. Thanks for all the work you did personally to make
it such an enjoyable experience.
We are writing this report on our journeys to let you know how things went for us during our tours of Israel and Egypt. You may use any part of this report as endorsement or for advertising, at your discretion.
In essence, this was a trip of a lifetime. From the planning and hard work of Carol to the execution of your people on the ground it was a resounding success. Throughout, the fact that we are physically challenged was appreciated and compensated for. The Israel portion went absolutely smoothly. We were met and helped through the airport phase and driven to Jerusalem. From there, your Guide took over. He showed his 32 years of experience over the next four days in explaining the various sites, their history and their importance while supporting us physically as necessary around the difficult areas of our tour. We learned a great deal from him and he is to be highly recommended as a guide. The accommodation at the Prima Royale was comfortable and we appreciated the boutique nature of the hotel.
Our flight to Cairo was quick and simple. We were met as planned and the visa and entry system worked well. We met your agent who arranged transportation to the Mena House Hotel. That in itself was a revelation; probably the most luxurious hotel at which we have ever had the pleasure of staying. The train ride from Cairo to Aswan was not pleasant and we would recommend any one else to fly.
We were met at Aswan by an exceptional guide and very hard worker. Over the next five days he introduced us to the sights, sounds and history of Upper Egypt. He knew it all by heart could interpret the hieroglyphs and did everything possible to make our visit useful and comfortable. Our hotels at Aswan and later at Luxor were first class and we had excellent rooms with views at both places. Our Nile Cruise was just excellent. The cabin was first class; the restaurant and bar service just great, t?e guide was with us for the cruise and for all the side trips. That was an added benefit.
The guide was a great business manager. He arranged all the tips and favours and smoothed our way in a most professional way. With his fine driver, he finally transported us to Hurghada and left us there in the evening to return to Luxor and begin another tour. He is a special guide.
We spent four happy days at the Hilton Hurghada before returning to Cairo, great resort, great views, and great hospitality. It was at the guides suggestion that we avoid the seven hour drive by coach to Cairo. I had erroneously thought we would see something of the Suez Canal which proved not to be possible on the route the bus took. We therefore gladly allowed the guide to book us a 45 minute flight and were glad that we did. The Red Sea Golden Voyages Guide, took us from the Hilton to the airport.
Back again in Cairo, the Meridien Pyramids Hotel was not a possible comparison with the Mena House. We obtained a room comparable to those at the other locations where we had stayed in Egypt and spent our last tour days in comfort there. Our guide for one day showed us the Cairo Museum, the Citadel and the Mohammed Ali Mosque. This was a pleasant day ending with a Sound and light show at the Great pyramid. For the last days of our tour our guide very accomplished and educated young man. He showed us through the Sakkara Stepped Pyramid complex, accompanied us to Alexandria and took us to El Fayoum.
The plan was excellent, the accommodation first class and the guides could not be bettered. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and felt we had excellent value for our money. Thank you, |
